What is unique about this program?
The unique and signature dimension of the program will be the genuinely comparative academic framework. This approach will equip students with the critical knowledge and skills to forge essential intellectual and personal connections. Graduates of this distinctive Three Campus Program will develop an enriched understanding of the dynamic relations amongst the three pre-eminent nations of East Asia (Japan, Korea and China) and the past, present and potential future pattern of relationships between East Asia and the wider world.
Students in this program will have the opportunity to develop national competencies as a key foundation of regional and global competencies. In each of the three campuses/countries, they will study the economy, politics, culture and society of the respective nation (Japan, Korea, China). Their interdisciplinary studies and customized language courses will give them the necessary knowledge and tools to comprehend each of these complex and vibrant nations and this exciting region as a whole.
Students will have specially tailored opportunities to work and learn together through undertaking research and training in leading private and public institutions across East Asia, drawing on the prestigious local networks of Keio, Yonsei and Hong Kong Universities. The program will culminate with a summer internship in Hong Kong.
How do I apply?
Applying to study abroad is a 2-Step process. You may complete both steps simultaneously, but Cornell Approval must be obtained before your program advisor in Global Learning can complete any approval or nomination forms for the program itself.
- For Cornell Approval, apply through experience.cornell.edu. Applications are approved by the Office of Global Learning on a rolling basis until the application deadline listed on this webpage.
- For Program Admission, complete an external application directly on the program’s webpage, using the link in the “Snapshot” section. Note that this deadline may be in advance of the general Cornell deadline for approval. Many programs fill by rolling admission.
