Cornell Health is the fully accredited provider of medical and mental health services for students on Cornell's Ithaca campus. It also provides select services for Cornell faculty and staff.
Services include everything from sports medicine to nutrition and eating services.
Health Insurance for Students
Full-time registered Cornell students—including international exchange students and visiting international students—are automatically enrolled in Cornell's Student Health Plan (SHP) each year.
The SHP requirement ensures that international students have access to affordable health care on campus and anywhere else in the United States and abroad.
Health Insurance for J-1 Student Interns
J-1 student interns are considered Cornell University employees and are not eligible for Cornell's Student Health Plan.
J-1 students should review the required health insurance requirements for international staff at Cornell.
